Founded in 1956 as “Mendip Morris Men” we are now open to all. We perform Morris Dance around the North Somerset area.
The repertoire is predominantly in the Cotswold style from South West England, but also includes Border dances, North-West clog dances and North East sword dances.
On summer Thursday evenings we seek to perform at pubs or iconic locations, often in the company of our neighbouring morris dance teams. In the winter months we practice on Monday evenings, 8 – 10 pm at the War Memorial Hall in Congresbury.
We have a long history of travel to foreign events throughout Europe, as well as attendance at shows and festivals around Britain.
New and prospective members are always welcome; we often run “taster” evenings, just in case you know nothing of the Morris.
